Day Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - At 10.45 p.m. in the evening, I was heading back home together with my daughter with totally stressed out in all aspect - mentally, emotionally, physically, as well intellectually. I wanted to hit back to bed - however, received this call from my wife that I need to pick up packed food - as she is not feeling well. I managed to pull my car at food stalls in Chaturshing - ordered the food and waited till the carry on packages were handed over to me. I wanted to rush home. Maitri was not getting into the car - I became restless and with a spur of the moment, I just pushed her inside the car. She was upset and began crying. A security guard came up to me and spontaneously said "Sir! Why are your troubling your daughter? For whom are you working? What is a use of your wealth, if you cannot keep your loved ones happy?, Sir! introspect what is purpose of your life - it is not to trouble others but to facilitate your loved ones and rest of the society to benefit from your efforts. I am sorry Sir, I could not resist saying this, by seeing how harshly you were pushing your daughter in". I was shocked and mesmerized with his words of wisdom. For a moment I just felt that GOD offer such a realization of purpose to every individual on this earth, especially every parent, parent to be - as like me they need to realize the real purpose of life. Why are we working?, for whom are we strugging?, are our kids whom we love so much are benefitting?, is the nation and society at large is being benefitted?
The words of wisdom the security guard offered made me to think, and think on the issue of why most of us complain that inspite of efforts we are not successful. The answer lies in what the guard said "realizing the purpose of life", "realizing purpose of what we are doing". I strongly belive that success is directly proporsal to the degree of realization of purpose. More clear, undoubtful, and stronger the realization of purpose, bigger the success. Thus, it is important that instead on spending time, energy, and intellectuality blindly, we instrospect on for what purpose, and I am sure success would kiss us every now and then, and we would be able to cherish that success. Thus,
SUCCESS = REALIZATION OF PURPOSE
